I seen the new Dynatech long tube header system at sema and the whole kit with converters is just awsome. Its about time someone come out with a system that wont break the bank. I must say this is a must for 5.3 and 6.0 SSRs.
My SSR: 03 Black SSR #2193 (1st set of Dynatech headers)
And guess who got the first set installed on there SSR !!! I liked the price even better, free. Just a month downtime to get the headers right for everyone else. If you want pictures or something drop a note back and I'll snap some and figure out where to post.

These headers sound great and are an awesome quality. I visited their shop and saw how attentive to detail they are. If you put these on yourself the passenger side is a tight squeeze but well worth the installation.
I took a tour of the shop before we started the installation process and again while they were test fitting and doing a lot of the prep work. I was impressed with their desire to manufacture a top notch product for our community. It was painful having the SSR gone for a month but well worth it in the end. These headers rock. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is interested in a little more power and a very nice sounding exhaust note even with factory mufflers.

I can call over to Dynatech and find out when they are going to start selling and how much they will run. I'll post back later on the pricing. You can check out their website at www.dynatechheaders.com, the contact email is sales@dynatechheaders.com. For the numbers, I could scan the dyno runs but not sure how to post them up here.
The numbers are:
Stock: Torque 265.6 LB at 4000 RPM 249.4 HP at 5300 RPM
Headers and High Flow Cats with stock exhaust:
Torque 293.4 LB at 4000 RPM 265.9 HP at 5300 RPM.
These runs were done on a DYNOJET machine. The stock set up on 9/24/04 and the headers set up on 10/12/04.
The numbers don't really show the true effect. The SSR sounds so good and has such a smoother ramp up with the headers. The power curve much better over the stock set up.
Any questions or if you want some photo's of the headers shout back and I'll send some.
By the way I am not a worker or anything associated with Dynatech. We just happen to be in the right place at the right time and got the headers manufactured and installed for free as the test truck. It took a month of bending, documenting and twisting but they are worth every day of it.

I ordered a set from the factory @$1295.00 They will be coming in around Jan.3rd. or so.
I've already installed a Magnaflow cat back setup. It should be really awsome. Question, are you still running a stock tune and could you snap some pics?
My SSR: 03 Black SSR #2193 (1st set of Dynatech headers)
We are still running a stock tune and stock mufflers. I'll snap a few shots of the headers and post them either later tonight or early tomorrow. I tried to call the shop but all the folks were up in Indy at the PIR car show.

Okay I am uploading about 11 pictures of the headers. Sorry I didn't have the truck jacked up and the concrete is cold out there! If you need something specific to look at I'll try to get a shot and show you it.

Well I have been searching all over the internet in every forum imaginable and finally there may be a light at the end of the tunnel.
I have been looking for a header system for my 2004 Bucik Rainer. Since the SSR and Rainer share the same platform (GMT360) do you think the Supermaxx system will fit my SUV? Can a vendor please ask Dynatech.
I have already ordered HPTuner to do a custom tune to get rid of Torque Managment and get my VE tables more dialed in. But the single most important thing that's holding me back from doing Heads and Cams is the ability to first install a good exhaust system.
The best way to find out is to call dynatech direct.Of course, you could contract through your local speed shop but if you want to find out you can call John Gaston at sales 812-897-3600.
Has anyone installed Dynatech WITH a muffler system other than stock? I'll be honest, I'm concerned with volume of sound and drone. I have had good experience with long tube headers in the past on a Z06 but not bottlenecked into a single muffler. I assume "tone" will change but is decibal level
(volume) close to stock??????
I have to mention I worked with a programmer (tuner) named Jeremy Formado who was able to gain far more out of an LS1 edit than the individual I purchased an air intake and the original LS1 edit from in my Z06 who is a supporting vendor and pepole talk well of on the corvetteforum.com and Z06vette.com. .Formados Faster Proms is currently setting up to do LS2 SSRs as he has done various C6 s. Obviously he can do the 5.3 motors and set MANY different shift parameters. The fuel mapping results in air fuel mixtures that are safe (no detonation), torque management is recalibrated along with a host of other things. He is extremely attentive to detail and I'd like to set up a dyno day for stock and modified SSR s in both the Northeast and Tampa area in Florida if anyone is interested in contacting him, please email me.
I installeda set of Magnaflow cat backs onmy 2003 redline before the header install. It consists of a 3" inlet-14" SS 8x5 muffler w/2 ea. 2.5" outlets. The stock inlet is 2.75" so this increased the flow before the muffler, the I had them(my local shop)reuse my stock SS tailpipe tips. This mod really opened up the low-mid range power and torque. There was a noticable increase in volume and a throatier tone.Surprizingly, it completely did away with the annoying 50 mph vacume cleaner drone in the cockpit.
I installed the Dynamaxx headers some months later and was very pleased with the HP gains and hot rod sound.
This system is really not much louder than the stock setup until you mash on the gas, then she gets awsome. Hope this helps.
by the fact that I am running a set of Dynatech SuperMaxx headers, and he saw them when I was having some other work done. How other Dealers would look upon that, I don't know. I have an '05 automatic and I can say they sound fine on my truck. There is some small amount of "hum" in the 40 to 60 mph range, but it doesn't bother me. I love the sound!
You may remember Chris Adams said in these pages that he would beat any other price, but doubt he could beat a price direct from Dynatech unless you consider installation, too. He is in Dallas, TX, and he put mine on. Total price including installation was $1,500. That would be tough to beat, even by Dynatech. Also, the work was done by a Certified GM mech at a Chevy Dealership in Grapevine, TX, a suburb of Dallas.
MTI Racing installed the Dynatech Supermaxx headers WITH the hi-flow cats (Need the hi flow cats to stay emissions and closed-loop capable), their Dual Shotgun exhaust (true dual exhaust with 2 Dynatech mufflers and crossover), the Rush air filter, and did a dyno tune. The results on my 04 5.3L-equipped SSR are clearly visible in the graph below.
Take a look at the gain in torque, both the peak gain and the AVERAGE gain ("area under the curve"). The funny bump in the curve is the Power Enrichment coming on late, as set by the factory. I later corrected that with tuning software, and now the curve is higher EVERYWHERE.
Awesome outcome in mid range power and torque, but not a lot at the top end because the stock cam is the limiter in the 5.3 Liter.
Thi mod is NOT legal in California, or anywhere where they inspect for original emissions equipment, as the headers and exhaust do NOT have a CARB number. The vehicle WILL pass an exhaust emissions check, as the system does have great cats and operates the closed loop correctly.
