My SSR: '03 RED vin1337, '06(lastoneinblack) vin 24107..Sadly sold '04UV,'05SILVER,'06PACBLU FPR
If you were to purchase another ECM for the SSR, a Dealer or some repair shops can program it to work in the same vehicle. Program the VIN number and some other info. in the stock (factory)settings. This could be $250-$500 DEPENDING ON WHERE YOU GO. Not many garages can do this, because the equiptment needed is very expesive. Plus they need to pay for updated information.
Then, if need be, it can be swapt out.
What you might think about is buying a Predator or similar programmer, have your stock tune stored in the Predator by your Custom Tuner . When you need to have stock tune for warranty?, 5 minutes to store the custom tune and install the stock tune, when you get your truck back from the dealer, swap the tunes.
I am not saying that is what I did, but the Predator was $300.

Last w/e at the Rally, Fanatic KeithMcP had Jeremy street tune his truck. Keith had a Predator tune installed. Jeremy removed the Predator tune to factory specs and tuned it with his LS1 EDIT program. He can now sell the Predator to someone and use it as if new.
FYI...the ECM is locked to your VIN#
