I just installed the rear springs on Thursday. Yes you have to trim the stops,
I used a hack saw and it was no big deal. You will find it a lot easier to reinstall
them if you put a little grease on the top ring and push them in. I went for a 250mile ride today and I really like the way it looks and rides. I am not sure if I will
do the fronts since I don't want it to loe in the front. Enjoy the new look and have fun.

Alignment
Nuzzo,
Be sure to take your truck in for a front alignment after changing the rear springs. It DOES change the angles enough to make a difference. Your Chevrolet dealer is the preferred point to do this, as the SSR is very tricky to get right.
Ask them to give you a print out of the before and after alignment numbers. They should provide you a data sheet.
Regards,
Mike

Mikey, I have to disagree here. The alignment is very simple to do on the SSR. The problem is the design (my Corvair is designed better in this regard) requires a trial an error process that requires patience to get it right. Any good alignment shop can accomplish this task.

Almost any shop that can do 19'' & 20" rims. Some of the older shops do not have the right equipment to do the job.
i had it aligned @ local shop, they just bought the latest technology machine....i was afraid to take it to my local dealer because they told me any mod's to the factory stuff would void my warranty......and w/ the commonproblems with the ssr i dont want to risk that just yet

WHo told you that - dealer of shop? Not true. They need to prove the mod cause whatever problem..
Common problems. I think the only comon problems are the door handles and the colling fans. they are being fixed as they break as well as an aftermarket solution is available for the fan. Most of the other issues are a matter of the negative side being 'louder'.
