Engine light on

Have my SSR at the dealers for an oil change, strut replacement and engine light on. Service rep says my light is on because it is not stock. Has K & N intake, Preditor tune (I had not changed it back). So for 9 months the light was not on then on for the last month.
Does not add up to me
Advice plse.

You need a new service rep ......the light should have a code associated with it. Find out what the code is.

First guess is oil fom the filter has contaminated the sensors in the MAF. Clean the oil off the sensor wires (I used brake parts cleaner - aersol so I didn't touch anything), be careful not to damage anything as they are rather small.

Tedd, Since we both live within driving range, which dealer are dealing with. I'm just getting ready to head out the door for my first oil change at Wm. L. Morris Chevrolet in Fillmore.

Yes, even though I live in Newbury Park I take it over to Simi, in the hopes of better servive. So far they have been great, and the service rep had advised me to clean the MAS wire with a Q tip.
It's still over there. Hoping to pick it up this aft.

My engine light came on this week..... Turned out to be a cracked gas cap seal.

Tedd do not attempt to clean your MAF sensor with anything other than spray carb cleaner the wires are far too sensitive to try to use a Q-tip. You will guaranteed break them and be looking at replacing the MAF sensor.

Thank you. I will happily heed your advice.
My son went over with me to pick it up.
"Oh my goodness, they left the top down sitting in this hot CA sun"
Not impressed
I had him take it home, sinced I was going back to the office
He called me to say they did not reset the dash after the oil change.
Strick two!
Tedd
They did not wash the truck
but the Honda pace did earlier in the week after an oil service on the Hybrid
