Exhaust tips

When welding on new exhaust tips should the battery terminals be disconnected for any reason?

Their were three of us from Ventura Co that use the same guy to weld the tips on and neither of us had the terminals disconnected.

Any time you are using a Tig or Mig welder on your car, the preferred setup is to disconnect the battery. With all the electronics and computers on the newer cars, why take the (expensive) chance.
I've always disconnected the battery just so I won't have something new to troubleshoot...

"Three of us" became "neither of us" had the terminals disconnected. Something went amiss.

Have had three different set of tips (not ncluding the stock ones) on Penelope...and never disconnected the battery for any of the welded changes.

P/P

Peace
