Extended Warranty

I just purchased a 2004 SSR with 12,800 miles on it. I am thinking about taking out an extended warranty. Do these SSR's have many problems? Does anyone think I should not take out this warranty?

Repairs

You may want to consider getting one. I have had to get my clutch fixed several times and my door handle as well. I plan on getting the extended plan before this one runs out. It's better to be safe than sorry

The door handle seems to be a big deal. I have read some other posts where they have broken. Thanks for your info.

Go for it...This is a warrenty you should have. Check the SEARCH engine and find the posts on warrenty prices. Some great low prices are to be had if you take your time and bargain the dealer, and get a copy of JimG's email book off the site..

I agree

generally I'm not a warranty-buying person. Most extended warranties are just very expensive insurance policies which very rarely cover their cost.

but these vehicles are unique, parts are hard to come by, and yes there are a number of parts which fail more often than they should.

I strongly recommend the warranty.

Thanks for all your help and info. I did purchase a warranty for two years and 24,000 miles and I can renew if needed. I understand that parts are becoming scarce and for that reason I bought the warranty. As a matter of fact I have already had a service call on it, I guess the prior owner put something under the passenger seat which caused the wires for the air bag to become lodged so that they were compromised when the seat was adjusted. That was a cool $165.00 to fix. Oh well I hope that is all I find wrong. They did do a complete check on the vehicle as it was out of warranty before they would write a new warranty. I bought a GM warranty.
