FIRST drive FIRST problem

i finally picked up my 05 3 pedal in atlanta yesterday!!! but on the way home (after test driving around the dealership) i got up to hwy speeds and it had a very very annoying squeak...sounded like it was right behind the radio, loud enough to be heard with windows down @ 70 mph...everything else was great except the noise. it was actually nicer ride than i was expecting but the annoying squeak would not go away....after 6 hrs of driving x-way we got home and the clutch pedal felt weird.....it had 3-4 inch spring action travel before it felt like it was trying to engage but worked fine. any possibility that the clutch and noise is related...the squeak seemed to be worse when the road was worse but never quit except smooth road and coasting it would be very minimal. any ideas?

Do a search on this site for clutch issues. You will find lots of reading material available.

I don't think they are related. Not to say they aren't. I've had the clutch issues early on and the dealer did get it fixed. The biggest thing is to find a dealer that is willing to help you. Seems like some will just blow you off but a good dealer is worth it even if the drive is longer.

Plan on coming to the Ga gathering next Saturday at Summit Racing in McDonough, we'll help you find a good dealer if you don't have one by then, and make you want to go spend $$ to trick it up a bit.

my 03 had a baaaad squeak!

it was the hood latch, it somehow got a little loose and was maddening
try a little oil where the striker and latch connect, if this works twist the rubber hood bump stops 1/4 turn up.
good luck and enjoy the new smile maker

i filled the clutch fluid resevoir ( it was about 1/2" below inside rim) and after engaging a few times my pedal came back to normal a 3 mile drive w/ top down was a quick cure for yesterday's gloom but after couple miles the sqeak returned........not as bad but is there....sounds like its right behind the radio, i'll start checking w/ local people for a good service dept @ a chev dealer. thanks greatly to those that reply and post , thats how i found the check fluid level....everyone here was right its the first time i ever bought a car w/o seeing or driving and it was well worth it!!! thanks to all here, tony

Just take it in to the Dealership. Its most likely just something rubbing in the dash someplace. The upper dash could be loose also.

Talking repaired

took my to the local dealer and they found the squeak they said the line to the slave cylinder was rubbing the firewall.....they supposedly relocated slightly to keep the fluid from evaporating....also had air leak in drivers wnd so they put a new seal in to fix that...im back to thanks to all for knowledge and recommendations, this site and it's fanatics are the best!!!
