front shock/lowering question

Hello SSRs-fellows, i know that your the best experienced guys and i guess that somebody of you had the same problem like i have at the moment.
So i have installed a Belltech lowering kit about 10months ago. That kit drops the Truck at rear about 2 1/2" at front arround 2". Along with the lowering kit there where rear shock included, but no front shocks. With this Kit "the ride" is getting harder, but i was and still be happy with it and "the Look" is great to me.

Since intalling the kit i did drove arround 9000miles, now i just found out that the orig.Billstein front shocks are leaking oil. All in all my SSR have now only about 17000 miles on it, usally much to early for replacing shocks. So i guess the shocks are gone because of the lowering, because of that 2" drop. On the european-cars
we always have to replace the shocks, if the lowering kit drops more than 1 1/2".

Do somebody of you had/have the same problem? Are there some special front shocks for lowered SSRs available? (belltech have the rears only)
Have tried already to search from Monroe, Gabriel, Edelbrock, no result.

Thanks in advance for your replys

Swisser

PS. also have a rattle on the rear axle since installed that kit. Checked the rear sway bar, checked bolts...no result....it still rattles.....any experience?

I have seen that some people have had leaky shocks without doing any lowering....just may be a shock problem.

I agree with wowfactor I think you have a shock/strut problem. I've lowered both of my SSR s 2-1/2" and no leaks and one of them has close to 30k on the clock.
I did do a search on the front struts and found a co that offered them I swear it was Belltech but I'll look and see if I can find the search I did.
Have you tried your dealership for warrenty ,as you can see by my avatar, that mine warrenties a radical costum ,so I can't see them giveing you greif over a strut.
Just to let you know my dealership is the one that alighned both of my SSR s after I lowered them.So don't be afraid to go in and ask.

Thanks both of you! So maybe i should replace them with originals shocks again and just hope that it was a comon material-problem......

Here in Switzerland & Europe GM never have sold officialy a SSR and most guys at GM not even know what a SSR is and that such a "Thing" exists...!! So there is no chance to get parts tru GM here, and warranty: no chance....! Most people here asking "what vehicle is below this body skin?" and "..made by yourself?" So iam never allone at the gas Station....
Btw. i love your "Sinister"!!! My "Dream-SSR"!! Have you used also the Belltech lowering? If so, does it rattles at the rear-axle?

Yes I've used belltech in the rear of Sinister I can't say that I've noticed a rattle. I bet you left your bumpstops in and you've probably bottem out on them then your spring rotated out of it's seat.
I could only imagen that would cause a rattle, check and see if your springs are seated properly and they also have the rubber isolator still installed in the springs.

Thanks all of you for your imputs! It looks like that the front shock problem is some kind of "bad-luck", so it seems that i got "lemon-shocks"! So i will replace them with new original ones. About the rear rattle, i will check the sugestion from Mr.Vettegirl.
Hey, Mickeyram, yes i would like to post some pictures from my SSR, but you have to know that iam a "computer-greenhorn" and, please dont laugh, i dont know how to post a picture here....!!
