I know there are some fanatics on this forum who will understand the engineering of this device more than me. (Actually, there may be a lot of fanatics who understand this more than me )
I am skeptical about any device that claims gas savings, but am curious if the science of this device makes sense. Is it hype or is there some foundation for the claims of increased performance and reduced gas mileage.
otherwise, lighten up a bit on the right foot on occasion. Its hard to do i know but can result in some savings and milage increase. I guessing, but i think most of us "R" owners have the vehicle as a second and not a main transport and as such we can decide when to drive it or not. My "other" is an '07 Silverado but its milage is approximately 1.8mpg lower than my R but it uses "regular" gasoline. Its a toss up for me-certainly gas prices are up but i would rather forgo a nite out occasionally than not put fuel in the truck!
The Moletech Fuel Saver has the ability to change three areas within the spectrum of gasoline by absorbing the CH (Benzene) of saturated and unsaturated hydrocarbon. According to the university research papers, the ceramics absorb the thermal energy from their surrounding environment then release it in a specific wavelength, breaking the intermolecular van der Waals force (the force that binds molecules) between the gasoline molecules.
HOLY SMOKES is that laying it on thick! Get out the hip waders!
Everywhere you look is some type of better MPG/more horsepower gimic. What I don't understand is how products like the TORNADO are still on the market, even after repeated tests show that they don't work worth a damn. As soon as that clown on "Two Guys Garage" started hawking that product, he and that show lost all credibility with me.
Do a search on Ebay and you'll come up with probably 500+ auctions for cheap crappy knock offs.

Ya got that right, ssr71.
Those MPG and Horsepower gimmicks are right up there with those late night TV weight loss scams.

If they all worked as well as they claim we would be putting them on everything and having to pump gas out of the tank every 15 miles so it did not cause an environmental spill.

If you do what you've always done,
You'll get what you've always gotten.
I do not think it would work !!! IF IT DID THE OIL COMPANYS WOULD BUY THE PAT. RIGHTS AND KEEP IT OFF THE MARKET.
You make a good point. Also, if this device works as they claim, you would think the auto manufacturers would be installing it in new vehicles.

I had the same reaction. Not being a scientist, and Moletech quoting a fair amount of science in their promotion, I am curious if their science makes sense, or is it just another formula for snake oil, abeit expensive snake oil.

My intention with this post is to see what others think of the product and if there is anything to the science. The response is as expected, and similar to what I think of it. There is lots of hype, but no concrete third party confirmation of the product.
The Moletech literature claims an Australian associate professor from Murdoch University studied the product and confirmed the product reduces emissions. I haven't found his report, but he is on staff at Murdoch website University.

Wonder how much they paid the "professor" for the study?

If you think about that statement, it could mean almost anything. What were the test conditions for before and after? What were they measuring and how? Test instruments were calibrated? Verified in calibration? And so on...
I hope the site administrators have the good sense to move this from the technical section to the off-topic joke section.
This is what's known in the engineering field as "techno-babble". It's often used with upper level management to keep them from asking questions. The idea is to string together enough vaguely recognizable technical terms to convince someone that has no idea what you're talking about that the comments make sense. What they are selling is a ceramic gas filter. They've been around for years in the snake oil business...just new techno-babble.
The only thing new is the implied statement that the product must work or else no one would have the guts to charge $300 for it. Even PT Barnum would find this one disgusting.
