Yes, the stepper motors can be replaced for about 5 or 6 bucks each, if you know how to solder. You can also have someone else replace them for a hundred or two assuming your waranty has run out.

Read this, this, and this.

Be sure and let us know how you made out.

If you are anywhere near GA let me know, I just ordered a new set of servos for $25 and will be doing mine in a few days. If you're close I can do yours as well.

TEMPORARY FIX for SPEEDO
There are several threads on the speedo problem. My 04 has done it twice in the last month. First time it corrected itself and the time today I tried the procedure that has been explained in other threads. That is: Start with the engine off. Hold down the "reset" key/button/switch (ie the one that resets the trip mileage) and start the car....do not release the key/button/switch until the gages cycle. Repeat this if needed. Mine was reading about 40 mph at a stand still....so after 4 of these procedures it is now back to normal. I'm sure sooner or later I will have to change out the stepper motor.

Ah that sucks. At least you found a free temporary fix for it! =)

Not so much a fix but more of a way to mask the problem until the stepper motors fail completely.
