A lot of variables but $600 - $700 for the gears and $300 - $500 for a custom dyno tune is typical. Make sure you find a shop that REALLY know how to set up the gears, lots of folks can install them, but if its not right they will sing. Also look for a local tuner that specializes in the LS, with all the Corvettes out there, there is generally one who stands out.

That's a little steep on the gears, they cost around $200, that's $1000 labor. I paid $500 installed, but some shops are quoting up to $800. It has to be a comfort & trust thing for you.

I had my 4:56 gears install at a rearend shop and it was $678 out the door. They have been installed for about one year. No problems.

Here's contact info for J & S Gear - I've bought at least ten sets of gears from them. Tell John what you want, specify automatic, and order a pinion seal and crush washer with the gears. Should be around $ 250 - 275 shipped.

I don't know where you're located, but I get gears installed for $ 375.00 in Phoenix. A custom tune (you don't need a dyno, unless you really want one, dyno shop time is around $ 100 - 150 per hour) to calibrate the speedo should run $ 200 on the west coast, $ 250+ on the east coast. For the cost of the tune, the tuner can set fan temps, air / fuel mixtures, shift points, etc. to give you max performance out of your rig.

We only have 1shop that is good and they have been in business for 30 yrs. quote at 800.00 but it would be about 700.00 in Indy but its 45 mi.away.so the 100.00 would be there for gas anyway.
