Here is my story: Purchased my 2006 aqua-blur in April 2006.The roof ajar message would come on and make that stupid "ding-ding" noise.It got so bad, that my wife did not want to ride in it at all.Also the roof time out cycle would come on when I went to put the top down.Or, should I say attempted to put the top down.At this point (JUNE 01,2006) I went to the local Chevy dealer.Hoping the problems would be fixed.The dealer stated that they could fix the problem.But, he would have to order the parts.However, the parts would not come in until August 31,2006.
August 31 came and went.No call from chevy dealer.I called them on Aug.7 and ask about the parts.The service Manager stated that the parts I needed were not being made by GM any more.And that GM was searching for some other company to manufacture the parts.And he further stated that he has had to tell other owners the same thing.He has no clue when, or if these parts will ever be made.I love my SSR but why have one if the top does not work,and it may never work.Or if any thing else goes wrong and you still can not get parts.

Still waiting for mine also since june all of a sudden the roof ajar message and the ding ding on the D.I.C. went away the dealer told me the same story about the PART

had that happen to me early on found it was the switch and latch assy dealer replaced and upgraded( told me i had the early model was upgraded to later now)when that happens its like some kid is playing with the door bell man it will drive you crazy
well these ssr's are to cool to give up or back off, never one to back up from a fight seems maybe as one big group of all ssr owners we should stand as one flood GM BONE HEADS with some kind of letter or some thing, not real good with words here but seems id rather get the first punch in before my ssr gos into dry dock then its to late, i could be wrong about this but there seems to be a lot of us that love these trucks GM MADE THEM WE NEED TO MAKE THEM STAND BEHIND THEM!!!!.........i dont want my money back just a good running cool ssr, and when its brakes dont want to hear 4 months thats bull..............but i could be wrong but from what iam reading this is a huge fubar waiting to happen??????????.........mike

mike mine did the time out situation too and all they had to do was reprogram the bcm.after working for a dealer they have no clue about our trucks.but i'm hoping that some of what was put in our trucks is going into the pontiac g6 hardtop.then maybe there will be parts.you never know with gm though sometimes they use stuff they have and sometimes they don't.when you get towed in and they look for a spare to replace the flat you know they have no clue.
