Red face GM Silicone Emulsion – GM Part No. 10953014

I called the parts department of my local Chevy dealer today and specifically asked for GM Silicone Emulsion – GM Part No. 10953014. I was told that it's a "bad part number" and he couldn't find it anywhere in the system.

I've seen it mentioned here on SSR Fanatic several times and I've seen the same product mentioned all over the Net with the exact same part number. I'm thinking we have a bone-head here in the parts department.

Being that several of you have used the stuff on your top rubber seals I wonder where to buy some?

The 2005 owner's manual doesn't mention that product anywhere. It does mention Dielectric Silicone Grease - GM Part No. 12345579 to be used for weatherstrip conditioning.

I've also read of the 303 products.

Use 303....silicone eats rubber. GM doesn't care that in 5 years out of warranty that your rubber leaves black streaks on your wash rag when you wash your car.

Use 303.

I bought the Dielectric Silicone but I don' t like it. It attracts all kinds of dust and fuzzies and I got it on me or my clothes everytime I got close to it Going to use the 303 instead

I emailed a buddy of mine in Winnipeg, MB Canada. There is a dealer there for the 303 products so I won't have to pay postage.

Thanks for the input.

I use lab silcone grease for glass fittings. You can get it on line from lab supply companies for $8.00 a tube. It is the same product as GM's only packaged for a different market. Remember a little goes a long way.

I checked and also cannot find this # you mentioned you saw it on the net so I checked the only place I could find it was a guy in canada so I ran a international parts locator and found a dealer in canada that has it so it must be a canada only thing it probably has somthing in it that caused rats to get cancer after they feed them 179 tubes of it in 2 days so the usa blocked it -frank

I found the 303 at both Longs Drug Store and NAPA Auto Parts. $12 for the large spray bottle.

Applied how often?

Amazing the amount of rubber seals and rubber channels on this truck. I applied the 303 a few months ago. How often are we suppose to apply to keep her from getting dried out?

Thanks
