GPS For my SSR

Hey folks, I am looking for a little help. After reading about an installation done by PRETZEL, I have decided that I would like to put the GP System in my 2005. He claims in his thread that he does not have the Y91 option on his build sticker. I have looked at my build sticker, and I have found that mine does not have the Y91, or Y92 Option either.

Well, after looking at Ebay, I am seeing th radio that I believe to be the one I want, the part number 15204335, but the sellers claim they are for vehicle with Y91, or Y92 options only. I do have the Bose Speakers in the SSR, but I am not sure what level they are.

Does anyone know what I need to do, will the 15204335 work, or is there something else I need to be looking for? Here is the thread from PRETZEL:

GM (OEM) Navigation Radio installed (w/pics)

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

James

James,
So far both the 15204334 and 15204335 Nav Radios will work. I know the radios are Y91 and the SSR is a UQA but they work. I dont know why they do? Id like to get a UQA radio to see if it works too.
Go with th 335 Model since you have a 2005.

Word of caution on the GM Nav DVD disk. Only use a Genuine GM Nav DVD. I bought a nav disk 4.1 not knowing it was a copy until it arrived. I thought Id try it anyway to see if my newly built subdivision was on it. 3.0 DVD was a big blank field. When I put the DVD in the radio it immediately began to updated the radios flash rom which took 10min. There is a big warning not to remove the disk or power when updating.
At the end of the update I got a disk error message and it would not read it. It was making a funny noise and I ejected it and put my 3.0 disk in and the radio still worked. Lucky I thought.. I almost killed my radio. I emailed the seller and got my money back after I returned it.

It worked in my favor because I found disk ver 5.0 locally for cheaper. They changed the younger female voice prompts to a more older mature lady on disk 5.0 There is a much larger map area (with my street/house) as expected.
