I'm glad you were able to get it put back together again in time to enjoy the rest of the summer weather. I bet you will get another 100K miles out of the new transmission. Have fun!

Well....I guess my story hasn't ended yet

Yesterday I reloaded the Diablo tune back in and guess what!?!??!?!
The strange power lag after the shift to 2nd reappeared !!!!
I guess that means it was NOT an internal failure of the transmission.
I will be speaking to the Chevy dealership today

Could be that the tuner is causing trans and computer issues. If the 3-2 downshift solenoid or epc solenoid short out it can cause rapid trans failure. We have seen hand held tuners create all kinds of drivability problems. I would be tempted to throw it in the river........

Well it is strange that I've had the performance tune in for more than 3 years with no problems and it's just when someone plays with the transmission then something goes amiss.

I am going to detune it tonight and see what happens.
I think I am just unhappy that I dropped $3k when I didn't have to
(or so it seems at this time)

I put the factory tune back in and everything is acting normal again.
I guess I can just live without the tune.

With 143,000 miles on the other transmission I would not worry that you wasted money on the new transmission, I am sure the old one was overdue to be replaced anyway.
