Help!!! How do I remove the Silver Thingy off of the Black Thingy so I can remove it

Sigh.... Before I break something, Anyone know how to remove that silver beauty cover insert in the engine shroud? Im sure to break it if I dont ask. I have the carbon fiber one coming so I want to remove it and clean under it before it arrives.
Thanks in advance!

I believe they pry straight up. Four tabs, two on each side that hold it into the black thingy. You have to do that to get to the screws.....

Yeah, the silver part has four single sided barbed "arrows" that hold it into the black cover. I think you can carefully use a small flat blade screwdriver to push the arrow toward the center and release the barb. You'll have to look carefully for them, but it will be obvious once you see it. No sweat.

I've had mine off a few times for painting, etc. There are recesses on the front corners of the satin insert. Just use a decent sized flatblade, with a cloth to keep from marking the shroud. Once the front corners have popped up, lift them out of the slots, and with a bit of wiggling, push the satin cover back and off the rear mounts.

Well, I got it off but not without denting it first.. It fastens with two clips at the two front side edges. They are the push down type the rear is is a slot in a pin type holder. To replace it you just line the rear slots in the beauty cover to the pins in the engine shroud then snap the front clips down into the shroud. I understood it to be 2 pins on each side of the cover going into slots in the shroud. Hence I dented in the metal cover when I tried to pry it from the side. What you need to do is simply use a small screw driver and apply it in each front corner of the beauty cover and lift up. Once the two front clips are out you just lift the rear off of the rear pins.

Do you hold grudges?

Since you have a dent

You might want to consider ordering a red insert as a replacement. I've got one and am looking forward to seeing it on the carbon fiber cover.

Well, mine is silver so Im going to keep the polished one. I sort of worked the dented side out a bit. Its a bit wavy but you might not be able to tell once in place.
