I originally posted this in this thread "Ignintion Switch?", but Rte66SSR suggested a different name might get more attention.
At first I thought about titling this "$1,000,000 in Gold Free!", but figured that would activate a spam filter.
Anyway... I was on my way to Bear Mountain,NY to drop my daughter off at camp this afternoon and my 3 pedal Ric just died on the highway. One minute I'm going 70 MPH, and the next it just shuts down. I managed to coast across 3 lanes of traffic and make it to the next exit where I pulled to the side of the road.
Tryed to start it and the starter turned without any problem, but it just won't fire up. Radio, fan, windows, top... everything works fine (although the battery is kinda dead now from trying to start it).
Had it towed home and had to take her to camp in my wife's HHR.
5 hours later I try to start it again, and same problem. Starter turns, but no fire.
Yeah, I just filled it yesterday getting ready for the trip.
Never had a problem with anything til today. It was running real smooth right up until the moment it quit. Seems like a clogged filter or bad pump would have had some symptoms before that?
Also just did a search on here for fuel filter and it seems like the filter on my 2005 is inside the tank and designed to last the life of the car? I've got 11,000 miles on it and that doesn't seem to be much of a life!

My SSR: 2004 Slingshot Yellow WITH CUSTOM TUNE BY JERERMY
Usually if the car shuts of with no sputter it usually ignition related or electrical. First start with the fuses then look at ignition spark. Hope that helps.

My thinking is any fuse that is computer related or ignition related they should be marked.I think if I remember there is a fuse box behind the back seat on center console on right and the one under under the hood. I am not sure there are any under the dash. Also make sure you have spark from ignition wires that could be a module or a sensor thats gone bad.

An 06 on its way to Penticton for a great weekend with no warning shut down, with some goood luck a dealer close by had the part and replaced what I was told a defective air intake sensor switch, the down side is the switch was over $400, the good side he was on his way in a few hours and was covered by a extended warranty.

I was going to mention the fuel pressure regulator.
