Question Help w/ 03-04 Exhaust

HELP: I need to find a OEM SSR Muffler with the correct Exhaust Tips.

Is there a any one out there who can try to help me locate a new muffler and exhaust tips (it comes in a one piece package) for my 04 SSR? My muffler has a slight rattle in it when I start it up from a cold start on occasions, so I had the dealer order me a new one. However the dealer received an 05-06 muffler and tips which has a different design than the 03-04s have. Plus... the exhaust tips have the noise control air cleaner on it (honey comb inserts) to lower the noise levels slightly from the earlier 03-04 versions.

The dealer re-ordered the part and this time got the correct part # but the muffler came in with the 05-06 ends (honey comb) version. I need someone who might be able to do a dealer and or parts search to try to locate the correct version of 03-04 muffler with the correct exhaust tips on them.

Much appreciated if anyone can tell me if there are any left out there.

Many thanks,

Muffler

Mark, I have my complete stock exhaust that I took off in 1 piece when I installed a Corsa Sport in May of 2004. The only problem would be shipping it without getting it bent up. I also have in stock a Corsa Sport system in stock that I have had before their last 2 price increases. Maybe we could work something out.

I have the muffler

Marc, I have the 03 muffler "only", from when I replaced it with the Flowmaster.
You are more than welcome to it, shipping charges only.
If interested, let me know, would not be able to ship until early next week.
PS very low mileage on the muffler Tom

03 muffler

I have an 03 complete exhaust. It is cut and boxed ready for shipping. I've posted some photos in the for sale topic. I think it is in 5 pieces all together, marked for easy welding.

You can have any or all of it for shipping costs only. Just pm me if interested.

Thumbs up Wow

Thanks for all the great feed back... I will have to talk this over with the dealer to see what might be my best solution here. If I can't get the correct replacement parts I just might take you up on your great offers here.

Thanks to a whole bunch of great members indeed!

Marc, if it's just the muffler, why do you need new tips?

They do not come separately. The tips are welded to connecting pipes which are in turn connected to the muffler as a one piece unit only.

*The 03-04 Exhaust tips are chrome polished and don't have the (the noise control air cleaner) or waffle baffles, as I call the design, inside of them as do the 05-06 tips. Instead of making up two different exhaust tips/ parts the vendor started making up the replacement 03-04 exhaust tips with the newer design 05-06 exhaust tips.

Exhaust / Tip Images

Here are a few shots of the exhaust and tips.

*You can clearly see the tips are welded to the pipes in photo one

Cool Lives in the garage a lot...

You are right Big Jim, I need to get out more ...

BTW: Darn exhaust system connections shows more rust than any other parts underneath the SSR.
