How Can I Check If GM Has Parts?

I posted a thread about the front end lower radiator support I broke. Not one to do the work myself or at a non-GM repair shop, took it to the dealer, who orders part 15120741 as discussed in the other thread. They tried to charge me $90 over list, until I broke out the information from GM Parts Direct, then they went to list - (YES, I know I could have saved some money here!). They said 3-5 days to get it from "source". Now been 2 weeks, no part yet. Todays call to the parts dept said that GM has some sort of system (he had a name for it, do not recall), where they search for the part at dealers, find it, buy it back, then send to my dealer...(???). So, finally, here are the questions:

Anyhow, 1) is this a BS story, and 2), how can I find who has this part myself?

Any help appreciated. I guess I could still buy from Frank Belk or GM Parts Direct, but getting my money back from the dealer might be interesting! And then it needs to be installed... will I get kicked of the site if I told you all I pre-paid the labor too!

Thanks!

If you do get the part from another source. And if the dealer doesn't credit you, take it out of the labor. I don't believe that they can legally charge for parts not provided.
