How an electronic throttle works

For a good reasonably generic explanation of how an electroic throttle works, see:

http://www.findarticles.com/p/articl...6/ai_n14682229

Although the example system used is off a Toyota, the GM one works very similarly.

Note that changing the throttle pedal assembly can affect the way your computer responds to what you THINK is a WOT command via the throttle pedal. See the following which uses the BMW system as the focus:

2005ssr6speed: I think this may have relevance to my current WOT problem using the new 90mm throttle body . . .

Investigating . . .

Here is a more specific one:

Note the dual volatges supplied for each action for improved accuracy and safety.

I wonder if the different throttle pedal assembly is causing the problem? It would make sense since the problem is not noticed until almost 100% throttle input from the pedal assembly. The TAC and the Throttle Body are at the correct frequencies as seen with all the trucks using it. The only difference right now is the pedal assembly and the custom Westers Tune?

2005ssr6speed: These are the items that I currently see that MAY be different:

- I have your 05 SSR throttle body, versus the Corvette throttle body that many of the pickups on the Performance Trucks site are using

- I have the acecssory alloy throttle peal assembly that comes as part of an accessory kit on GMPartsDirect. That kit is currently offered fro the 05 SSR but NOT for the 04 SSR. That MAY imply that the pedal assembly is different.

- I ahve the Wester tune.
