I have to say im really lucky so far. In 4K miles all I have needed was a plastic door sill plate a DIC re program and a key Fob re program. I know the door handle is going to go sooner or later etc. but I expect that stuff. I put the top up and down tons of times and NEVER have I seen "time out". No water Leaks, No Dripping fluids, No over heating, Just miles of smiles,.. its awsome so far.

Hey If something decides to go south and im told 2-3 months to get parts, I won't hesitate to go after GM PRONTO! I employ a Lawyer from the "holy land" full time! anyway.

Hey guys, despite all the stuff I do with my SSR (rolling Fanatic laboratory ), I have to say that in 28,500 miles, the only problems I have experienced that required dealer attention have been:

- Noise from the stock driveshaft (solved via a Reinhart driveshaft)

- Tailshaft leak caused by the ill-conceived GM "donut dampener" style replacement driveshaft, and corrected (after the GM warranty repair on the seal) by the Reinhart driveshaft

- Broken driver side door handle (the dealer replaced both sides)

- Engine cooling fan failed at around 11,000 miles (replaced under warranty, and CURED via a dual Spal fan kit).

I don't think I have forgotten anything.

Remember I am also running aone of 2005SSR6speed's superchargers, a modified exhaust, a Z06 cam, and a built tranny that perhaps provokes that rear axle assembly a bit too. And, my SSR is NOT a weekend toy. It is my ONLY 4-wheeled vehicle.

That's not that bad for a limited production vehicle that was rushed into production and is now modified to produce a lot more power. I think Freezer and his people should be proud actually.

I realize others have had less happy experiences, but I am just poitning out my experience.

Talking Very pleased . . . (knocking on wood) . . . .

Over 45,000 miles:

driver's side door handle replaced (fine, but it took nearly 3 weeks to get the part)

radiator fan (replaced, repaired, or reprogrammed ?) took nearly a week. To their credit, GM provided a rental for that.

Still running on OEM tires, although ready to replace with KDW2s.

Haul 600-700 lbs of tools around daily and top down cruiser in the afternoon and evening. Change oil at 50% on DIC with AMSOIL. I'm shickled titless.

No problems here, either

Just a hair over 12K miles in 13 months of ownership, and not a single complaint or dealer visit. (Changed oil and oil filter myself at 5K, and air filter at 1 year.)

The only modification I've done is replace the factory air dam (from which two of the fasteners had already popped off) with Mike in AZ's outstanding replacement.

I bought one of the SSR badges, but my compulsion with keeping my ride stock has relegated it to storage in our "key drawer" at home. (I even kept the factory air dam, just in case.)

Unhappy ssr problems

Bought 05 in Feb of 06.
Starting problems in late June, dealer replaced battery and throttle body. Started fine about eight times then no start. Dealer replaced ignition switch, no starting issues since. About a week later, starting having trouble with opening drivers door from the inside. Went back to dealer with the info about the TSB for the inside door bezels. Been waiting about 3 weeks for the parts. None to be found in the entire country. No idea when or if they will be available. They got the passenger side but it is not broke yet. Love the truck otherwise. drive it every day. Got almost 11,000 on it.
