Hydraulic fluid for roof

Hi everybody,

The hydraulic fluid is on low as I saw this morning, but I cant find what type of fluid it is.
Our SSR is here in Switzerland and GM dealers are not is very helpful, because they dont sold the SSR in the past.

Maybe someone can tell me what type of fluid it is ??

thanks all of you

Marc

Where do you check it at? I looked in the roof area but couldn't tell anything.

Most of the convertible roofs now use high pressure hydraulic systems made by Power Packer of the Netherlands. I am sure the fluid is the same for most of these systems no matter which car manufacturer is involved.

Smile Checking fluid

You have to open the cover where the roof goes down into. The hydraulic unit is located on the floor. There is a plastic bottle attached to the hydraulic unit containing the fluid. I know there are paint marks on the bottle to indicate full and low levels. Good luck adding fluid. It is not in a convenient location.

How much per quart? Cause what ever it is, I'm sure it's double that here.

I paid a little over $50 for mine. Have not topped it off myself yet. Plan on looking in my shop manual and following the instructions when I get back to Va. Tuesday.
