I lowered my car..............AGAIN

I bagged the front now it sits the way I like it. This is the parking height when I start it it raises 2" inches front and rear. I drove it to Temecula today and it rides very nice.

Nice

Where did you get the running boards? Are those real exhaust ports in front of the rear wheel? I definitly like the looks of your ride.

Very good looking!
I don't know if I like the chrome grill or not, mine is "all" black.
The only chrome is the wheels and pipes.
I have been thinking about a set of side pipes but not sure how
they would look.
Your running boards look good, did you make them?
Your exhaust look different as in sharp, what did you do about
the holes in the rear where the pipes use to be.
Now
The Shine
That baby has a shine!!!!!!!!!!
Did you ulta-fine it and re clear coat?

Fine looking "R" Truck

Just an FYI, Ken had all of the modifications done to his taste and I think it looks AWSOME!

Sorry folks, but I've discussed having more grills and running boards ands exhaust tips made up for the rest of us, but alas, the tooling would be cost prohibited.

Hey Ken! I know that you are just too tired to type this "Sorry, but no thanks" letter back again and again.

BUT, your SSR looks SUPER!

I want to thank all of you for the nice comments. I know some of these changes are not for everyone, but thats what makes it fun to do. Maybe it will give you a new idea for your car. I would be willing to bet that there are very few completely stock SSR'S out there. If you have a local street rod shop that doese sheet metal fabrication they can make you a grille, it just has to be good quality wokmanship, you can't skip on the quality if you expect it to come out good.
Some of this stuff is just luck in who you know. One of my long time friends is the owner of So. Cal. Speed Shop Pete Chapporis I made the lowering kits for both of there cars for the S.E.M.A. show. he had a extra set of running boards and rear bumper, so he gave them to me. There are only 3 sets of them that I know of.
The side exhaust I made because I just didn't want it to come out of the rear of the car/truck.
I am going to do two more pretty radical things to her, then I think I will be done unless Lloger shares his painter with me!
Thanks again to all that like her,
Ken

Thanks everyone for all your positive feedback on what I've done to my SSR. I know not everyone has the same taste but it is nice that everyone has the same passion about their trucks and can appreciate all the work one puts into it! I know I appreciate all the aspects of what makes each of your SSR's unique!

Yeah, I saw this truck at the Irwindale event. He has the roll pan in back and the fat pipes jutting out from underneath.

TOTALLY SICK looking!! I love it! I think out of 50 SSR's it was the best one there!

Ken,

Did you have to change your tires to get more clearance for lowering? I ordered an '06 and am looking at changing the rims and lowering it a couple of inches. I'm wondering if I need to get smaller rims to get the wheel size down to prevent the tires from grinding against the wheel wells.

I agree, that is one clean machine, very classy look. I love the tail lights, how the heck did you do those??? The rear bumper, boards and grill are all really nice. I need more friends like yours, lol. Killer truck man.

No you don't need to change wheels or tires. With a 2" drop in front the first contact will be the pinch weld on the crush tube. You can grind that off and it will clear. If you go any lower than that in the front you will need to change your upper control arm and do some other stuff if you want the geometry correct. If you take your wheel off and your plastic wheel well liner you will see. If you are willing to invest in the time you can lower her 4" in the front and 6" in the rear and still have clearance to dive. I have only worked on 03's and 04's, I don' know if 05's are the same. I hope this helps you.
