Ice!

Has anyone tried the new Turtle Wax product ICE???

Just bought some today. I'm going to give it a try Sunday when it's warmer.

Got good reviews on the Corvette Forum.

Thumbs down Not on black

Am sending mine back for my money back..........another hype gone wrong....is all I'll say........... This stuff kinda remindedof something I used over 50 years ago, called Johnson Car Plate.......it was a liquid wax almost like the liquid Johnsons self polishing floor wax my mother used on the hard wood floors......It was just a smeary mess........I have used Turtle Wax Ultra Gloss......with pretty good results.........But not this stuff.......any smear, blemish or water marks....any residue from wiping the car will be left there......and show up through the ice.....even going over it doesn't help........ just my 25 cents worth.......Their getting mine back.......with a letter.........In 58 years of polishing and waxing cars....I've tried about all of them........On my Street rods ....the best was Pro....or Mothers Banana Wax ( pure carnuba)..........At the car shows and rod runs......I always had some guy touting his wax or glaze want to put my Rod in his booth for demonstration purposes.........I always told them........first wax half my hood........if they could make it look better....I'd go for it.........This always drew a crowd......to my show spot........many tried but none....none ever succeeded......and always went away very embarrassed.

I have have had success with Zaino. A little time consuming to get the initial application down but a great shine and excellent protection.

Was a little surprized to see Corvette owners touting the product. I certainly have never tried it; it might be great. But from experience I can tell you that it has a ways to go to beat Zaino. Many 'Vette clubs endorse Zaino as their "official" polish. Zaino is not wax and I can't see any wax product beating it. Been selling it for about 5 years and never had a customer to ask for his money back. You can read all about it at www.zainobros.com Don

Tried it and it worked great. Easy on and easy off. Going to try it a few more times in the future to see how it does.

It would be interesting to see how it stands up compared to Zaino. The only sure way would be do do half a surface, and see how the results compare.

I'm hooked on Zaino - spectacular results, and once the claybar and initial application is done, very easy to use.

I got some of this today, I've used lots of different waxes and polishes...except Zaino (Zymol, Meguires, 3M, Liquid Glass, Eagle One Wet, Turtle Wax, Blue Coral, Black Magic...etc) and thus far the 3M Perfect-It is my favorite. The problem I have is that all of my vehicles are black. I will occasionally miss a little section and then I'll spend a long time trying to rub that dried on crap off. Especially in the SSR where if you get even a little bit on the weather stripping on the top, it will be there for god knows how long (is there an easy way to get rid of this, <btw>?).

Well today I did a rush job washing and drying before applying the Ice. I can see where Wolf has an excellent point, any area that might have had a water drop, this stuff did nothing but enhance it. However, since I was just testing it out, I have to say that as easy as this stuff is to put on and take off, I will have no problem taking the extra 20 min. every time I wash my truck to apply this stuff.

It's not going to win you any awards at Riddlers, but I was able to wet the sponge, cover half the truck, refill, and do the other half in like 5 minutes. Not having to worry about making tiny quarter-sized rotations making sure not to get too close to a seam or weather strip, I went over everything very quickly. It came off pretty easy, although at times it was hard to see where I needed to polish more. All in all-I was able to do 2 coats in the time it takes me to do 1/3 of the truck using other polishes.

It was especially helpful on the interior painted surfaces. Again I just rubbed it on with little concern about getting any on the dash, door panels, seats, or console parts.

For an everyday wash, this stuff is perfect. It will come out looking like you spent a lot more time on it than you did...very high gloss. For a show-stopper, stick to whatever your preference is (Zaino, Meguiars, 3M...whatever), but if you're like me and always want your truck shiny but can't spend 3 hours after washing it to apply waxes and polishes the 'right' way, take the 20 min. to apply this and I doubt you'll have any serious complaints.

Again....just my opinion...try it for yourself and if you don't like it, feel free to blame me.

Saw a Consumer Reports article on car polishes. Zaino just plain WAXED (pun intended) the rest of the field.

Hello wax users, Im in the auto detailing chemical manufacturing business and I use only one wax pure carnuba by Ardex Lab. out of Penn. Ill post the correct item number this weekend. Its creamy like had lotion. Apply with a microfiber applicator and remove with a microfiber towel. Apply a lite film more is not better. I sell it for 22.50 per gallon but you might fine a distributor in your area. Look in the yellow pages under auto detailing supplies or polish and waxes. You also might check Ardex Labs. web site. There is a company called California Customs in the state of Nebraska which sells a carshow wax and an excellent wheel and chrome polish. Kinda expensive but good stuff.

ICE WOW WOW What else can I say

I just got done ICEing my SSR all I can say is WOW.....The application was so easy and flawless I had to look/feel the truck to believe that it was really waxed. The truck was hot and I thought no way was this really going to work but man did it work. I have had people stop and ask me was it a custom paint job and I tell them no I just used Turtle Wax ICE. I thought maybe this was going to be another over priced product but now all I can say is WOW the results are just outstanding. I also bought the ICE detailer and use it in between both products are so easy and flawless it is hard to believe the results. This product is priced well below NXT and Zaino and the results are fair superior to both of them. No need to apply the product on a cool SSR your SSR can be hot when applied and I have read from other boards that the hotter the surface actually the better the shine. I am now stuck on ICE let's hope others also are. I also discovered that this product can be used on all black plastic parts and leaves NO white residue behind so I can use it on everything and no need to go behind with a light cloth/brush and remove white residue. GO ICE...........

The ICE was easy on and easy off. If car is clean and you're in a rush then OK. But I'm sticking with my Zaino.

Ice, Ice, BABY!! I'm sold on it. If you buy into the theory that the shine is directly proportional to the amount of work to apply the wax, this is not for you. If you want something quick and easy that looks good, this is it.

The other thing I like is that it does a good job on plastic and doesn't leave those annoying white streaks in all the crevices. I also used it on my boat with great results. No complaints here.

I bought the Zaino and used it three times before I quit. I won't use it again. I've never had water spots like I had when using Zaino products. I'll stick to pure Carnuba waxes. I tried the new Mcguires tech wax. Didn't like it all all.

Zaino

Based on experience and the recent Consumer Reports tests - nothing going on my baby except Zaino.
