Ignition switch question

I know from reading prior posts that a faulty ignition switch can cause numerous problems ranging from a malfunctioning radio to premature hair loss but this weekend mine started keeping my key.
I turned the switch off and the key wouldn't come out After tugging a few times it finally let go but it has been touch and go since then. Sometimes it comes out sometimes it's a struggle.
It's going into the shop tomorrow but I'm just curious if anyone else has had this problem

Battery issue????

As I remember, the key capture is part of a bad battery indicator. People who have had their battery die have not been able to get their key out as well. I have not experienced this, but there are others who have.

Try some searches on "dead battery" or "won't start" and see if that helps....

Wow, I never would have thought of that. I'll check it out.
Thanks
