Talking I'm Stripping!

Ha! Made ya look!

I'm stripping my new SS underhood letters that I bought from
DakotaDocMartin. I needed to get the powder coat off, so I can send them to hdflst for chroming. It's easier than I was lead to believe... I used furniture stripper that I re-finish antiques with. It said for use on wood, metal and masonry so I gave it a go. Easy to do and took about 5 minutes. Thought I'd share in case anyone needed to know.

When I have a new batch of letters cut with the laser I'll be sure to leave some unfinished for those of you that would like to either chrome or paint them a custom color. It will save you some extra work and some money too.

Gee Anne, you could have posted this Thread under the Supporting Member Off Topic section and taken it to a whole new level.

Very nice Ann, you admit to stripping and you include pictures. Should this be in the Supporting Member Off Topic, though?

No Focks. When I strip it's technical. Stripping leaves no support.

Hey Salt Springs is a small town... you best watch out hanging around in "there". People will talk. As a matter of fact I'll be up there this week-end. Now I'll know where to look for you.

Did you know that DDM's letters were going under your hood when you were asking about paint for the blanket a few months ago?
I was busy today getting mine cleaned up. Jessie was making sure I didn't miss a spot!!

Another thing we have in common... german shepherds! Jessie sure looks beautiful!

I guess when I was cleaning that blanket it got me to thinking about the letters. Chroming them was the icing on the cake!
