When my drivers handle failed, one year after buying my new 05, I decided to do the repair myself. When I first laid eyes on the failed plastic hinge points my first reaction was to laugh. How could any engineer ever expect this piece to function for any length of time in a high use environment? I just wanted to scream - This is a door handle dumb *** used constantly by a variety of people to get in and out of their car. The original hinged plastic part is without a doubt the most poorly designed piece I've seen to provide a most needed function. If you have the original designed piece it will fail sooner or later. The new design is significantly stronger, by a power of 3 or 4, and I checked mine last winter and it shows no wear after 2 years of use. Trying to be gentle might prolong the inevitable, but once the magic number of cycles is reached it's done.

Question Other websites are non-paying

And actually I have visited the website as a non-paying member recently and the number of ads you have to put up with is amazing...it's soo much quicker to get through all the posts without those...
Funny, but there's at least a dozen other websites for other cars where they don't ask you for money and you can get information. Ads, don't bother me, so I don't see paying to just get rid of the them. The biggest feature is uploading photos, etc, which I don't need to do. Since the website is earning money through ads, its adding additional revenue by you paying to not receive them, so basically it's being paid display and not display ads, which must make it very happy.

I must not be the brightest person with a SSR since I can't figure out how to put the spring back in so I can make the indise handle work. Are there any pictures or instructions? I could sure use them.
