install servo

How much trouble is it to get a new servo installed? Got my 4:56 gears and I read I should have a new servo put in also. Does the trans. have to be dropped or what? What should it cost to have this done?

Thanks for any info,

bronco

I think you should send a PM to my husband, Greg Ducato. He knows all about that.

The servo is pretty easy to install if you are mechanically inclined and does not require transmission removal or even pan removal. Typical shop charge is about an hour. We have SSR specific instructions with our servo. PM me if we can help.

I had Greg do mine and I'm 100% satisfied with their work and their professionalism. They also serviced the trans while they were putting in the servo, because of the mileage. They also installed my 4:56 gears. Their shop is something to behold. Very clean and they even let us have our tech session there a couple month back. I would definitely recommend his shop (Phoenix Transmission). My .02.

Question servo

Greg, could you print your installation instructions, I want them, but I am not shure I can do it myself. Thanks for all us who are timid about installations. Jack

servo

You will like the shifting with a phoenix servo, the 1st to 2nd is very quick and positive. and the others are improved as well.

I had mine installed when I had the larger after market tranny pan installed so the install price was part of the total job which I thought was reasonable.

Freeway Chev in Phoenix did the work, they are a very good dealership to work with, Chris my service writer was a former SSR owner and knows a lot about them.
