Interesting Question

Has anyone ever sucessfully installed the paddle shifters from a Corvette on an SSR? Seems like it might be possible but I've never seen it done. Anyone know why it could not be done?

The new Corvettes have paddle shift so maybe the steering wheel will cross over or some of it anyway, there are aftermarket kits out there as well. I have heard from some on here that manual shifting the auto trans is not suggested so a transmission upgrade might be needed as well.

One of many paddle conversion kits: Shrifter® Compushift Package [10143, 10146] - $1,475.00 : TwistMachine.com, CNC Innovations for Hot Rods

It is also something on my list to look into some day

Thanks Dragon
There is obviously more to this system than I had thought. I was thinking a controller and some momentary contact switches and bingo. I should know by now nothing is easy anymore. I really appreciate your input and the link is great!

This is MUCH more complictaed than you thought.

First, yes, the trannys in the SSRs should not be manually shifted.

Second, the paddle-shifter equipped cars have the new CAN bus architecture, so any 03 or 04 SSR is automatically out of the picture because it has the older architecture.

Poppa, I was wondering the same thing while we where driving the Hertz rental Vette. The heads up display with the G meter was another item on the want list.
