Anyone have any idea how I can get a key for the center consol. It seems I need thisin order to get the consol to snap together properly. Anyone had to get a key?
Thanks,

key

if you are saying you need the key in the consol to close it, mine closes without the key.

I didn't have a key for mine so I bought a new lock and key from GM. When you remove the console and re-install it the lock has to be in a certain position to get the console to fit back in place so you do need a key. The lock assembly and key was about $48.

I had to get a key for mine .. went to a standard locksmith .. three keys for $10. They just read the number off the lock assembly.

Silly me. When I lost mine I went to a dealer thinking I could get the key based on the number on the lock. No such luck, they had to order a new lock (complete with keys) and install it. Took half a day but was done under warranty. Good to know about the locksmith thing for any future recurrence.
