license plate frame

i've purchased several different chrome license plate frames. I was wondering if the black plastic frame already there is removable? It feels like it will snap on and off, but i didn't want to tug on it to hard if it doesn't actually come off. as it is my chrome frame sits on top of the black plastic one. would prefer that it was flush mount like the plastic one

thanks ron

(rear plate plastic frame)

There are four snap tabs that you can use a screwdriver to gently push outward to release the plastic frame. There are two tabs on each side portion of this plastic frame. Use a screwdriver to push outward on the base of the tab and it should release the tab itself (with a little pulling).
