Looking for a chip to save gas mileage

Has anyone tried a chip? Or does anyone have any ideas?
I have an 06 LS2 395 hp. Auto, runs great! Gets about 17.5 mpg. on Hiway.

I get a little better mileage with the Predator tune (93 octane) but you'd be better off putting a wooden block under the right pedal...

In my basically stock '05 I can easily get 20 on trips, 18-19 on highway (doing around 75.) Stop-and-go hurts the mileage, as does the higher speed on the highway, but it is what it is.

Good luck.

I would suggest you get it professional tuned, like we do in Florida. Pick up about 3 mpg and 30hp.

Lots of other parameters are changed also, shift pattern, 1 sec. delay on throttle gone, fan setting changed to come on at 190 low and 210 high. Runs lots cooler.

Find a Corvette Speed Shop, they can do the tune or some other reputable Speed Shop.

I'm as happy as a Pig In Poop when The Doophus gets 21 or 22 MPG.

17 mpg? You should get a bit better than that. As suggested, run the 91 or 93 octane (whatever the highest available). The computer tuning definitely works better with the high octane and my experience is that it gets noticeably better MPG.

I can get that any time on the hwy with the 6 speed! Around town.... eh, 13-14. I had one tank where I actually hit 25. Never saw it again though.

I ran regular in my 05 most of the time and it ran great. It's really a wash as far as cost goes. I might have seen 1 MPG difference when I used premium over reg and yes, I reset the computer when I ran premium and ran it over several weeks. Here's a small spread sheet with examples of miles per year, cost per gallon and yearly fuel costs.

As most people here have already said - Bottom line, just enjoy the ride

Gas $ Miles MPG Gallons Cost
3.00 12000.00 20.00 600.00 1800.00
3.40 12000.00 21.00 571.43 1942.86

3.00 12000.00 20.00 600.00 1800.00
3.40 12000.00 22.00 545.45 1854.55

4.00 12000.00 20.00 600.00 2400.00
4.50 12000.00 21.00 571.43 2571.43

4.00 12000.00 19.00 631.58 2526.32
4.50 12000.00 19.00 631.58 2842.11

Get rid of factory tune

After Jeremy did my street tune, I get better mileage and I have been running a step up in the octane. I am heavy footed and still get 18.9
You need to run cooler and better octane just to enjoy the ride.
The LS2 like to run...

My 2005 6 Speed.... average town and some highway 19.5+ MPG and 22 to 24 on highway runs, even with low test ... top down takes off a mile or two but that what it is for
