Mass Airflow Sensor and transmission issues

My 05 R has a weird transmission slip between shifts 1-2. It's very inconsistent, but typically happens after the engine and transmission have warmed up. I have tried to baby the R at takeoff but no help. I've tried turning off traction control but no help. I have a K&N cold air induction box installed. I've had the local Chevy dealer look at it. He told me that it could be one of five things.
1. The Mass airflow sensor is thrown off by the K&N cold air box, creating a torque limit issue. This is the first time that I heard this could cause the problem.....Replace the air box with the stock unit.
2. The engine may have been retuned by the previous owner. Possibly changed the shift points in the engine computer......... Reprogram the engine back to stock.
3. Transmission servo issue requiring a Corvette servo as many SSR owners have mentioned....Replace current servo with Corvette servo.
4. Faulty transmission that needs to be replaced.....Replace transmission
5. Occasional act of God that I will have to live with.....You know the rest.

To be honest I don't know which direction to go. I was looking for some help on the matter. I don't want this 1-2 shift issue to make my R become a money pit. Any direction or guidance you guys could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Contact Greg Ducato. This is EXACTLY the same problem that a lot of us have experienced. Greg knows more about your 4L65E than the dealer does.

Regards,

Mike

to me that is what happened to mine
the 2nd band is the first to go and it works w your 4th band too so if you gas mileage is down it is most likely going out and needs replacing

Greg did a great job w mine and upgraded it all
greg@phoenixtrans.com
love it now and very good

Since you are in Ga I would have your 4L65E shipped to Greg Ducato.

Since you have a K&N filter I would have the mass air screen cleaned as these can accumulate oils from the air filter and cause some shift issues. If cleaning the screen/sensor or the servo does not help the 1-2 shift then the band may be failing.

Thanks guys. I think I will just replace the mass sir flow sensor first since the part is only bout 100 bucks. If that does not correct the issue I will contact Greg on getting the transmission pulled and sent to him. Thanks to all who replied.

I'd have somebody knowledgeable do a tune, before pulling the trans.
