Cool Modified Running Board brackets

Just wanted to share something our buddy Lonnie did for my truck. He modified the running board brackets on my '05 like he has on "The Diva", his '04. The mod pulled the boards in lower and tighter to the body, which does a couple of things:

1. It's easier to clean the entire door section now
2. Easier in/out because you don't hit the boards
3. Fewer scuffs on the boards
4. Looks much cooler than before

This was a great mod and Lonnie took great time to make sure these fit just right. Heck, he even painted them for me!

I tried to get in close as possible on the pics but the best one is the last one, looking straight down over the door sill. Looking straight down you can only see the last outside tread on the board - compare that to yours and you'll get a good feel for how far these come in. I should have done a before and after, but wasn't thinking..

Thanks Lonnie for another custom application for the SSR. You can also check out his pics on his site: X-Rodz

Looks good. Will have to contact him about this mod, it definitly tucks it in well and blends it in smoothly with our SSR curves. Nice look

Looks pretty nice, Sooner! Any chance of seeing some photos of the whole truck from a little distance to see the overall visual effect? Thanks.

Dang... I sold my running boards 'cause it was hard for me to get my left foot in.
Which I had saved them and followed your idea.

That's what I did, first in, then down. I believe Lonnie modified by welding.

Mine were already slotted, so I could move them in, but Lonnie re-built the hangers completely so it moved them down to allow the boards to tuck under and in.

Here are some other pics Flashback
