I am looking for an enclosed cargo trailer to use behind the SSR fo hauling two Harleys. I know of the Ironhorse Eagle Sport Carrier, but was wondering what other Harley rider were using? I would be interested in others comments. Thanks

I've got an 8'X12' enclosed tandem axle HAULMARK, that I used for my two bikes, and I'm looking to sell it to make room in my garage. PM me if interested.

Thanks HARDOC, I also have a S&H single axle 6x10 v nose two bike enclosed trailer that I was pulling with my C3 that is for sale. A little to heavy for the SSR. Thanks for the responce.
I have located another cago trailer mfg. in Mt. Gilead, Ohio, Fiber Core Sport TRLS @www.sporttrls.com. From the internet it look to be a nice trailer with good features. They do not have any dealers close and I was wondering if any one has seen this trailer and could provide an opion about it? Thanks for your help.
Modifications to the trailer hitch have been made to lower the hitch 5 inches to provide a level platform for the Fiberglass Motorcycle Trailer. The modification will limit the SSR tongue weight capacity about 20%. The motorcycle Trailer is light (1200#) and the tongue weight is only (60#) when empty. With the motorcycles loaded over the center of the trailer axel there is very little increase in the tongue weight. The trailer pulls great and the aerodynamics work quite well.
03Duece,
what part of oklahoma are you located? I'm just north of Tulsa in Owasso. I have seen a few yeller ones running aroun here. I know 1 from Skiatook area.

I am located in Enid, OK. Have not been in Tulsa with the SSR, but worked for the Williams Co's a number of years ago. I do get to Tulsa once and a while and will look for you on the road. The best until.
I'd like to get one, for just about exactly the same reason. I have a wonderful aluminum motorcycle trailer, and a hitch height 4 to 5 inches lower would be perfect.
The SSR Trailer Hitch Modification was fabricated by a local welding shop. I can make arrangements for building one for anyone who migt be interested. The cost of the Hitch with mounting bolt ready to paint is $80.00 plus packing and shipping by UPS. You can e-mail me at (jwlehmann@cox.net) to work out the details.
Thanks to JimGnitecki inquire he is the "First Buyer".
Great looking set up you have there 03DUCE. You did a great job researching and putting it all together. Are you going to paint it yellow to match your SSR?
The hitches are availble as soon as they are ordered and can be fabricated. You can contact me by e-mail as noted in an earlier Thread and I will take care of all the arrangemnets, packing and shiping. (jwlehmann@cox.net)

RayBan: I received the hitch extension, had it beautifully powdercoated (looks great!), but have not had a need to use it yet.
I leave the REGULAR hitch on all the time, and have only needed to use the trailer very occasionally for short trips in town so far. If I make a LONG trip, I will atatch the hitch extension to get a correct level trailer ride. I don't want to have the extension ounted normally, as it would look pretty obtrusive.
Mounting and demountin g the extension needs to be done via a BIG wrench - not a wrench that most of us would have laying around - so don't plan on doing it "the night before" you need it!
Jim. . . did you ever get this item? If so, how did it work out for you?
Regards,
RB
Ray Ban,
I purchased this same extension last year when they were first offered. The drop it provides makes towing my harley trailer level. Since I have 2 hitches, I can leave one as it came from the factory and the second has the extension.
Only problem I have had is that it adds a bit of weight to the hitch. Need to be careful when installing.
Since you are going to be on your back while doing it, and need to lift it into precise position to snap into the receptacle under the chassis, be careful that you don't injure yourself.
Thanks Jim and Ray_Ban for your information and interest. I have had three inquiries and yes Jim is right the hitch extension add about 10# to the weight of the hitch. I have used the hitch extension for a year now and put over 1500 miles on it pulling the bike trailer. It has worked great for my bike trailer. I was down in your area recently Jim, at Marble Falls, Texas for a two day bike ride in the Hill Country and had a great time. I realy enjoy that area and have riden there several times.
03Duce: I am also a biker. I'm currently down to just one bike: a highly modified Ducati S4 Monster that is all carbon fiber and billet, weighs 60 lb. less than stock, and took 2nd place at the 2004 Ducati Monster Challenge at the Dallas bike show.
The Texas Hill Country is fantastic for biking!
Next time you visit, give me a shout in advance and we might be able to link up.
I guess the enclosed trailers have a much diffrent hitch hight..Here is my bike behind my 04 I had and it sit good and level... "Bike was going to get the turbo installed"
And one of my Toy.. 04 Hayabusa ghetto stage 2 turbocharger with front mount intercooler and 5th Injector.. on 8lbs of boost it makes 317hp at the rear tire.. Stretched 8" over with a 240 on the rear..
RAY-BAN: I have sent you a PM on your request for information. Boosted: Nice bike do you have any place you can use that HP? You and Jim need to get together and compair HP.
The Trailer that I have has 14" wheels with a torsion rubber axel with a 10 3/4 " tongue height. The SSR hitch is 16 3/4" high hence the modification.
Jim: I will give you a heads up the next time I am in the area. Thanks for the invite.
