Step Bar added below factory hitch?
Hello 03DUCE,
I just read your thread about the hitch mod... I am looking for a slightly different application. I am trying to leave the factory hitch as it is, and possibly ADD a two inch receiver below it in order to attach a step bar to it, beneath the ball. Would your approach work for this application? You seem to be knowledgeable about this.
The SSR Trailer Hitch Modification was fabricated by a local welding shop. I can make arrangements for building one for anyone who migt be interested. The cost of the Hitch with mounting bolt ready to paint is $80.00 plus packing and shipping by UPS. You can e-mail me at (jwlehmann@cox.net) to work out the details.
Thanks to JimGnitecki inquire he is the "First Buyer".
Tried to email you with no success. Are you still around??

With all due respect, is the Deuce man still interested??
Looks like the man is missing. I like his hitch idea. Perfect for my light utility trailer. This is a better idea than having the tongue cut on the trailer.

I think if you took the photos to any custom hitch shop they should be able to do something like that or similar, I plan on trying this as my trailer is about 4" to high and hopefully they will be able to duplicate what he had done but just not that low.
