My battle with overheating is over!

I replaced the OEM fan with an aftermarket fan. I drained all of my coolant; washed-out the cooling system with clean, distilled water; and then replaced with a 60/40 mix of distilled water (60%) and DexCool (40%). Finally, I have a 160 degree T-Stat.

Now, on the highway my temp is 170 and in bumper to bumper city traffic in Florida (91 today) it's 205.

Exclamation Not quite over...

I happy that you are happy.
But I don't recommend anyone else change their thermostat to one of lower value, it will damage the engine.
All aluminum engines must run at the designed temperature (210°F), running them colder causes accelerated wear and eventual engine failure. The aftermarket fan seems to be one of the best ideas out there. I would also look at adding "water wetter" as I have seen several good, independent reviews of that product and its ability to improve the heat transfer to/from the coolant.

This is no recomended due to the fact that the newer cars are designed to run hotter. If the vehicle doesn't run hot enuff the computor will not go into closed loop and will not distribute the proper amount of fuel , proper timing , etc. Running at 210 is a normal temp.

It will not hurt the SSR to run at 210-230 in traffic.
