Need a little help from a friend

The last few days the passanger door will not unlock from the inside to allow door to open with someone sitting in the seat. Does not matter if engine is running and you hit the unlock button door unlocks and window drops but handle will not let you out, and when you let go of handle door window goes back up. When you turn car off and you hear doors unlock window drops but handle does not let you out. Now ny wife is not complaining to loudly as she says it has made a gentleman out of me as now in order to get her out of car I have to walk around an dopen her door!!

Have had no other electrical problems with the truch and just was wondering if someone else shared the same experience and if I need to REPLACE THE IGNITION SWITCH.

I had a similar problem. The dealer replaced the door handle under warranty and the problem was solved. Hope this helps...Jim (Seal Beach)

Sounds like the dreaded door handle broken issue. It's actually the plastic part the the handle mounts to, not the handle. A search will turn up plenty of threads on this topic.

I don't hear this happening to very many 05's, how many miles to you have? Is it an early build perhaps? I thought they "fixed" the issue in early 05 but maybe with allot of use it still breaks?

I have watched others open their doorsFrom the inside, with a very heavy hand, I have taught my kids from the beginning to be gentle, pull it slowly and let go, don't hold onto it after it has released. Keeping my fingers crossed that all stays in one piece mine is an 04!

I had to have mine inside door bezels (the part the handle pivots on) replaced on my 05. The replacement parts are much beefier than the originals. If your dealer can not find the part, I have an extra set that I ordered. There is a TSB covering the replacement which advises the dealer to replace both sides if one fails. I had mine done in 2006 and had to wait two and a half months for the parts, they were on national back order at that time which is why I ordered the spare set.

I had to have mine replaced ('05) the second week of May. It took about 4 days for the dealer to get the parts.
