New Pedals

Got a set of new pedals for the truck. With a little help from a hair dryer the clutch and brake pedal went right on. The question I have is, how in the world does the gas pedal go on. I see the factory pedal is held on with a pin. Does that pin push out, pop out or do you have to blast it out? Any help is appreciated.

Yeah, I've installed new pedals on 3 SSR's and have always had to remove the gas pedal assy. Remove the 10mm bolts, drop it down a little, remove the connector and remove all the way. The pin is pressed in and has a spring mounted with it too so make sure you understand how it all goes back together before you remove the pin.

Not hard, just time consuming, good luck!!!

Just take your time. Remove the pedal assembly. There is a spring in the gas pedal/pin area. Study the position of the spring before you punch the pin out. Also, the wire harness has a gray lock/safety clip that has to be removed before disconnecting the harness. Tease them apart gently.

Pedal Installation

After removing the pedal assembly from the truck, I removed the factory pin with a drift punch. Upon reassembly with the new pedal pad, I fitted a 1/4 inch OD aluminum bushing with a press fit into the pedal support, and secured everything back together with a 3/16 diameter clevis pin and a hitch pin clip. This precludes any loose fit of the new pedal and no longer will I have to remove the pedal assembly to change the pad.
