Hopped in the Hot rod this morning and just got a Click click click.
Then remembered that yesterday it turned over a wee bit different than normal.
So hooked up the battery charger and have left it for the day.
But wondering what has taken it down-a draw from somewhere?
No radar in the car right now,
Both doors were closed tight. Looked around and could see nothing left on.
Do I really need to take it to the dealer to see what the draw is??
Any thoughts

First guess is ignition switch but there are a number of things that could be the culprit. Since it's still under warranty it sounds like a trip to the dealer is in order.

What did your volt meter read when you turned the key on (not while you were trying to start.)
My SSR: ricochet silver 2004 all options available for o4 on it, was dealers demo mod born on 3-26-04

well tedd after over 20 yrs working on many types of vehicles i have seen batteries that were brand new go dead the next day or week.my ssr did the same to me and i jumped it drove it home and back to work the next day (at a chevy dealer) they took it in found no draws and charged the battery up for a couple of hours.that was over a year ago and since had to sit idle for a month in new orleans when i moved back east.started right up.batteries can be fickle but if you go to the dealer they will most likely put a new one in.or at least insist they do.i had the luxury of working at the dealer but i'm sure you would be better served to get it done once your there.
A lot of SSR's that were sitting at the dealer a long time had battery issues. Mine was one. Part of the problem was the sitting a long time, and partly from demos of the roof without the engine running, The roof draws a lot of current. Anyways the dealer replaced it no problem under warranty. So if it starts after the charge that May be your issue. Good luck.
My truck was at connell chev yesterday for a no start. The battery was fine, but it was a faulty ignition swith. They said there has been a problem with some of the 05' SSRs.
went to take off this afternoon click click click no nothing put on a slow charge for about 10 minutes fired right up the amp gauge says its charging ( whats up any ideas )
I got a warning light for the emissions system. The dealer's computer showed low voltage to the ignition switch. The light went out, so he said it could be a minor glitch. That evening the car would not start - no noise at all. Then I got it to start. The ignition switch was replaced the next day. He said that many GM products use the same ignition switch and they have been replacing them in 2005 Buicks, Tahoes, etc. etc. It is not just an SSR problem. He claimed that the faulty ones were from a manufacturer and that the replacements do not have the problem. He also said there was a technical bulletin on this - not a recall. Another thread on this site said the problem could be the air conditioner switch. The dealer confirmed that this was possible but it did not show on the computer codes for my vehicle. Another thread also mentioned having too much weight on the key. He confirmed that this could be a problem. I only have the remote and the console key. The problem could occur if there are several keys attached to the ring. I also had a problem with putting it in gear after I started it a few times before the switch was replaced. I forgot to confirm with the dealer if this was a related problem. My advice - any start problems, particularly on an '05 - insist on having the ignition switch replaced.
The ignition switch can cause all kinds of minor issues. Weird Huh? Glad it is fixed now. Guess there is now rhyme or reason who will be effected by this problem

as a matter of fact......it's the only problem I've had........
Just curious though, how many miles / months has it been since new? Mine was 3 days after taking delivery.

I bought mine used, about six months old and with only 1700- miles on it, it had not been driven much. I suspect the battery was just down. It's been fine since, but my office is only a mile from the house, so if I put the top up and down on a regular basis, it may draw the battery down. But appears that other driving is looking after things. Your car had probably been sitting also and the doors open for a while during clean up and prep.
