Oil and Grease...not John Travolta or Olivia Newton-John

Is greasing the steering column a common practice with Fanatics? When changing the rear axle oil is there a recommended brand of oil to use?

Synthetic

When I had the 4:56 gears installed they put in synthetic ... they said it runs cooler. Dunno what brand they used though.

Factory fill for the rearend is synthetic oil, along with the trans fluid. Dex VI is full synthetic trans fluid. As for greasing the steering column, unless there is a reason, ie noise they are lubed for life. And the noise will most likely be the intermeadatate steering shaft slip joint making the noise. I have greased several of these and only greased a column when i did repairs to it.
