oil pressure gauge

My oil pressure gauge is doing funny things. I just noticed that with the key on, engine not running, that the oil pressure gauge is jumping back and forth between 40 & 60. Haven't seen it do this before. Anybody have any ideas about what is going on?

Sounds like you may have a stepper motor issue. Any good speedo repair shop can fix it relatively inexpensively.

Before you do that, disconnect the battery cable at the red jump box on the passenger side of your truck in the engine compartment for a few minutes, then reconnect. It may fix your problem.

Oil pressure guage

My oil pressure guage stopped working during an oil change. Chevy diagnosed the problem as a bad sensor. $450.00 to pull the intake manifold, replace the $25.00 sensor, replace the $150.00 gasket and reassemble. Now it works. I cannot blame the E-Z lube people. Changing the sensor is not as easy as on Classic Chevy's. That would have been a 5 min job. Chuck

I think they got to you on this job. I changed the one on my 05 in about 20 minutes by pulling the plastic cover off the top of the engine and climbing on top. With the proper socket you can reach back there and screw it right out and back in. There is no reason to pull the intake off.
