Lightbulb Oil spots in the ground

Oil spots in the ground. Hello friends, again pdrulo from Spain. My ssr, leaves small oil spots in the ground. Drops that fall by the left a arms, the one of the pilot. It is normal? Of where it can be? It seems that it is of the shock absorber, but I do not see it very clear.

Thanks friends.

Shock? Well there is a very small amount of oil in a shock. i would lean more towards a leaky rack or a leaking powersteering hose or res.

Has it been leaking long? 1 day 3 day's?

It is not normal. Clean the area very good and watch close for the source of the leak.

No es normal. Limpiar el área muy buena y el cierre del reloj para la fuente del escape.

Put a WHITE piece of cloth or card board under the area. This will help aid in seeing the color of the oil you are finding. There is a GM service buliten for a small oil leak at the rear of the engine where the transmission hooks up. It could be leaking from there and running down the frame in a slightly different location. Once its found out what type of oil it is by color the truck will have to be lifted and an under side inspection done. Keep in mind this oil could be from many sources/hoses/connections, like power steering, Transmission, Engine, brakes etc.

...........

I have cleaned everything and put a paper to see the color of the oil, tomorrow control photos to see if they help me. I have watched and seems that she falls downwards from half of the shock absorber, wetting the left a arms, but I do not see of where is born the lost one.

Well Hope its just a shock thats easy and cheap to replace. I would have to think however the SSr would have gas filled shocks no?

The shocks are gas filled. All that means is that there is a pressurized gas above the oil in the shock.

Rears are 'regular'. Fronts are a strut type design. I know at least one guy was working on some replacements.

"joining the club"

I backed my SSR out of the garage today to do some cleanup and get into the attic space. I noticed a puddle about slightly larger than my hand just about where the right front wheel was located. I was thinking power steering as well, but looking underneath the front, the bottom of the coil spring plate is covered with oil. There's a corresponding spot on the A-arm just below that too.

I'll be visiting the dealer on Monday I guess. That, an alignment (I have an obvious toe-out), and surging A/C to take care of.
