Pass Side Air Bag Replacement

Anyone know how long it should take a service tech to replace a passenger side airbag. My dealer is telling me it takes almost a day because most of the dash has to come apart.

Does this sound right ????????

Thanks,

bcbear

time to remove air bag

That is typical for a dealer !! Most do not know or want to know how to work on our car . Most "mechanics " cannot spell the word or know what to do. JUST SCREW UP OUR SSR

It won't take all day, but they might not be able to work on it right away, it may take a couple of hours just to get to it as i'm sure there are other poeple ahead of you. or they want one tech over another to do the job and he may have to finish one up first before he can get to yours.

I am asking from the time they start working on the vehicle. I realize that I am not the only one. Vehicle sat at the dealer since Wednesday. Finally got into the shop to be worked on by noon on Friday. When I clled I was lold it take almost a day and wont have it back till Monday.

At the same time I was also told truck will need to see a body shop when finished. Someone backed into the d/s door and it needs to be replaced. Hope they can get me the two stickers that are on the door. If not I am relally going to be pi**ed.

Well actually when they replaced my pasenger airbag it took them @4 hours to do it, because of some weird screws underneath the dash you have to feel for, and have a bendable driver.

At least that is the story I recieved from Classic Chevrolet.
