Queston about adding heated seats.

Is the wiring in place to add heated seats to an SSR delivered without heated seats? I can get heated seats from another 2003 SSR (leather is in better shape than mine) but I need to know if this will be a simple plug and play install or will the wiring be a hassle.
Thank you for your help.
Mick

I suspect the wiring is already in place to simplify construction of the SSR. I can't say for sure though.

If it didn't come with heated seats then the wiring isn't there. I won't say it can't be done but it would take some work. If you want I can e-mail you the schematics for the seats

Don't know if this helps... but I just had the heating element replaced in mine... (its was short circuiting & burning my... ) So I would imagine that its a replaceable item....separate from the seat. Would image the wiring is there....

I would tend to agree. Poke around under the seat and carpet area to see if there is a wire bundle there. When I added a compass mirror and temperature mirror to my Silverado all the wiring from the engine to the roof was already there. Manufacturing generic cable assemblies but not installing all the accessories is common in vehicles, you might luck out and simply be able to install the new seats with a few bolts.

I hope you are right. I will be able to check this afternoon. There seem to be very few SSR's without heated seats (for all the right reasons) that this doesn't seem to be a common problem. Thank you all for your help.

Mick,
The wiring is the same for heated and unheated seats in the 06, and probably same in other years as well. I changed mine out in my redline with no problems a few months ago. Plug and go...enjoy.
