should be able to pretty much trade it even up at ur local GM dealer for a "previously owned" Cadillac with a front bench seat that is very comfortable. LOL
I wish they still made Caddys with a bench seat, it seems you can't find one anywhere any more.

Haven't tried a permanent fix, but I carry a small pillow (about 10" diameter) and move it around as needed to relieve pressure. Or I make my wife drive.
Also started a bench seat conversion using a seat out of a 92 Ford Ranger seat which fit the cab pretty well but that's been on the back burner for a while now.
"on my 05 Silver I had the pedal shortened and it gave me a couple of inches of right leg room and seemed to help."
Yes a better way to go than pivot seat, I think I might bend pedal arm over to the left some.

Some stuff added
Somewhere on the forum this issue has been addressed.
I seem to remember that one solution was to install the extra layer of foam between the springs and the existing foam in the center section.
Personally, I wished they had engineered the interior door panels with armrests, and a higher console lid that would be more compatible to us old farts.
I'm continually putting my elbow on the very top of the door panel and it's not very comfortable.
I had the 3M (invisible bra material) installed on the tops of both door panels to protect the paint because I knew it would eventually wear off.
And yes, having empty pockets (especially the rear) does help on longer trips.
zainossr came up with a solution for the arm rest problem that i have used and passed on to others and others are using it also. that is to get a seat belt pad , (walmart $4.95) and wrap it around the door bezel, (satin or chrome) just fits and is comfortable. i think someone on our site has even made them with the SSR on them.

Greg. I know what you mean by the pain in the rear on a long trip.
I too removed my posterior leather card holder and it helped, but not a lot.
The other day I was talking to my Dad (Buzzard) and he picked up one of those wood bead things for the seat. It fit in the center section pretty well and he said he likes it. No more pain in the posterior for him.

I know what the problem is Greg. You need to eat more fried foods. The problem is you do not have the proper amount of padding nature has given you. If you cannot eat fried, that I am going to suggest 500 cc's of Botox in each cheek and as it dissipates in the system you can find what works best for you.
Don't worry, man, I got you covered

Same problem!
My wife picked up a couple of black seat cushions at a dept. store. They are the kind that you would use on a wood dining room chair.
By tilting the seat up and using these cloth cushions seems to help me!

I feel the leg is slightly turned to the right to reach the gas pedal, and that this might cause right leg pain. Just thinking what if … what if pivot the seat to the right a bit, or bend the pedal over to the left some.
I would suggest the pedal change before the seat pivot. I had a FORD van at work and found that the steering wheel was not straight with the seat and it caused me back pain due to the twist in my shoulders to compensate. That was a workers comp claim until I got a newer truck with the wheel and seat aligned properly.

I bought a jell cushion from a medical supply store. It is made for people who sit in wheel chairs. It can be move around how ever you need it to be comfortable. With out, she would not have been able to stand our entire trip of over 2800 miles.

I had thought of sewing straight back on the seat bottom and the back to let ventilation flow, but have held off until I have run the options. Modified padding is definitely #1 on the list for me. Looking at perforated leather materials, and then fabric, secondly. The Jury is Still Out, as of yet......

Yes, why haden't I thought of that, it's not the truck's problem, it's mine!!
I could have the fat sucked out of my head and injected into my hips, but then I would have to modify the console just to be able to shut the door once I sat down.....

Go sit in a U/V. Sounds bogus, but there's just something different agout the seats in the U/V's. Confirmed it at Kerrville. Don't know why, but it's just so. I quit asking why and just ask to try more U/V owners to see if it's true. Survey Says... YES ! ....
Suggest you go try sitting in a U/V and see what you think.

Probably has more to do with the positive aura that U/V owners exude than the actual seat construction

Greg,
Since it was constructed on trailblazer platform you might try a seat from a trailblazer and see if it can be modified. I know I don't have the problem with my wife's trailblazer when we go places but do when we go long distances in the R. also that damn drink holder if used on the drivers side makes your right leg bend differnt just to reach the pedal.

Larry, my TBSS has comfy seats and I notice that the side bolsters on these are both softer and more flat. I think that is the direction I am headed with having mine modified.
