My SSR: '03 Redline #1110 "Fire Belching Turbo Blaster"
Hey, no one mentioned Goodyear.....Just put Goodyear Eagles factory specs on my '03 a couple weeks ago. Good price and the ride and handling are excellent. Just wondering if anyone else runs these?

OEM Goodyear RSAs are not exactly a crowd favorite. Several accidents, a couple of them serious rollovers, have been blamed on the poor road holding of the Goodyears in wet conditions.
Definitely some better tires out there.
I suspect that most Fanatics would be going with something else.

Here are pics of my 315/35/20 Bridgestones.
The pictures don't do them justice as they actually look wider in person.
They are 12 inches wide.
I really like them so far!

They fit on the original SSR rear rims just fine.
One of our most Knowledgeable & trusted members, Mike in AZ, has them on his SSR and told me there would not be a problem. I trusted Mike and he was right. They tires perform great and look great too!

As a "serious rollover" survivor, all I will say is: Scooter is going to love real traction on his SSR. I just got done tossing my KDW-equipped SSR over CA Highway 33 and 166, as in cutting an hour off a 3.5 hour drive...
I am a new fanatic and am looking at getting the BF Goodrich g-Force KDW's put on the rear of my R and am wandering if anyone knows of a good tire to put on the front? I want something with a similar look if possible.
I have been thinking about replacing my stock GY tires for over a year. Finally did it and bought a set of the Nitto Invo in 255-40-19 fronts/ 315-35-20 rears. Really like the lower look of these sizes. Just ordered them from Discount Tires to be shipped on Wednesday and hopefully have them on by Saturday. Total price with shipping $1037 (plus of course installation and balancing). I may get an alinement done later.
My GY tires still only have 6400 miles on them but they are 8 years old. They look great but I keep thinking there could be something to that advise about replacing the tires after 6 years.
We are hoping to make it to Maggie Valley this year. Have had some minor health issues. Also hoping it is not going to rain next week. Weather.com has a 60% chance of rain for May 19 but we all know that will change.

KDW 245/40zr/19 just ordered another one... other side was replaced by Sears RoadHandler a while back...

Check tread designs. The OEM size rears are the traditional tread. Fronts, and alternate size rears, will have the new tread design.

I run Goodyears. The improvement in ride and handling with the new Goodyears is excellent.

Hmmmm....I think I should have visited this site before I replaced the rear tires last weekend. I went to Goodyear the week before and they didn't have any. I'm in Virginia. They found 1 tire in Norfolk that they could have shipped to Richmond. I needed 2. They found 2 in a Goodyear warehouse in Miami, so I paid to have them shipped. $744. for 2 rear tires and an inspection. But the originals were still on my '05 with 42,000 miles on them. I guess I shouldn't complain too much.
With all of this talk about old tires I decidedto drop by the Tire Discount near my house to get a price on a new set of tires.
It seems that the new front tires now have a higher speed rating than the rear tires. The salesman checked with Goodyear and they said this is due to the fact that the new tire is now OEM on one of the Lincolns (MxT?) which requires the higher speed rating.
Anyway, the complete set of 4 tires, mounted and balanced, plus the 6% state sales tax is just a tad under $1300. I didn't write it down but it was either $1270. or $1290.
Road hazard insurance is $57 per tire.
As best as I can remember, I've only had 2 instances where a tire may have been eligible for this replacement insurance so I don't see a great value in this insurance.
The salesman did offer me a discount if I would buy a set of tires for my other car. I still have a few thousand miles left on those tires so I'm going to have to figure out if it's worth spending the extra before I really have to.
I think I'll keep the front tires as they were replacements that were put on a year (2005) after I bought the SSR. Perhaps someone may need them in an emergency situation?
THey only have 13,200 miles on them and they're wearing evenly the last time I checked.
Nitto INVO's are really nice. TommyB had them on his R at Laughlin and he did a lot of research so I bought a set. The sizes are: 255/40ZR 19 and 315/35ZR 20. Because you are on the right coast you could order them all for $1000.32 from 4 wheel in Tampa. They do not charge Tax or shipping. After I had mine on and several Las Vegas MOB members saw them they put them on. A fourth MOB member is considering them. They are quiet and ride great.

Okay. I'm thinking about a set of the Invos. What is the name of the place you mentioned in Tampa? I want to order from them.
