Talking retro a go-go, my new engine cover

Just put the engine cover back on. It's now painted - ultra violet of course. And my latest addition, I mounted the "Chevrolet" script along the valve covers! I like how it turned out

Nice job, Sandy

Those Chevrolet emblems are great.

I rescued the old cover from my 03, and installed the shapeless mass from the 06 before I traded it in.

The mounting bracket from the 06 worked fine on the 03, but the 03 bracket will need a bit of fine tuning to work on the 06.

Needs a repaint and a bit of detailing, but it and the polished alternator should be on the truck by summer.

Don't get too attached to the cover, Sandy - it has to go when you install the supercharger.

thanks everyone for the great reply's

the script is for a '57 chevy, V8. It was a perfect fit, 13 inches long. The cover is 14 inches long. I had first thought I would have the local artist paint it on, but he had surgery on his neck in February and made we wait.........then I finally found these, the size I was looking for.

Flassh, I had read in another thread that you pulled the 5.3L cover off to make a switch. I agree with you, the 6.0L isn't as good looking. About the supercharger, I had considered this, but the big bucks are too steep for this humble gardner!!!!!

I got the pictures to up-load to my gallery, finally, had to try a few times. They were accepted this morning.

Very nice looking. My next add-on will be a cover for the supercharger, and then get it painted as well.

There are 4 posts on each. I actually drilled holes in my cover!!!! There was a time in my life when I never would do such a thing But the SSR is all about change and doing what makes it unique, and that makes me happy. And I did a damn good job It lays flat and snug even without the clips that go on the back. I still put them on though. FYI I used a 5/16th bit.
And to answer the question - Where did I get them???? On ebay, of course!!!!
