Roof Problem

When I hit the switch to lower the roof, I hear it unlock ... then it stops. I get "TLAT HALL SWITCH FAULT" error message. Now, it won't open or close completely. I know it has something to do with the deck lid sensors, but has anyone had this problem and knows how to fix it?

Thanks for the help.

PM Niceville Bill he will fix you up with a new set of tlat switches. GM no longer makes them. Sometimes you can use wd40 on the switches and they will work for a while.Go to search function type tlat switches and look thru files and there are pictures of how to change switches.

I remember Dictator had a post about wires rubbing thru. When i checked mine they were nearly wore thru also.
Sounds like when the deck lid move to a different position you get the error. So this could definetly contribute to your problem.

Perform a search, it is complete with pics. Dictator did a great job showing the potential of the problem and the location as well as repairs.

Worth a look and the price is right !

Here are pictures of the "latch switch".

1. Roof up, Cover up, latch on each side near top.
2. Four 10mm bolts, remove
3. Carefully lift out
4. Turn over, push switch up and down to make sure working, lubricate or replace the switch. Radio Shack should have something close, 10amp micro switch. Or you can buy new assembly for about $100. bucks, I believe.

While fixing switch, check wire harness.

1. Wire chaffed by to short a harness.
2. Repair any wire damage
3. Retape and replace
4. Wire real bad, use connectors
5. Repaired
