should i use loc tite when installing running boards, if so blue or red?

Fred, probably don't need it.
3/8 drive.... pull till you ...grunt.

1/2 drive..... don't pull so hard...

the bolts won't come loose.

Can't hurt, I use it all the time, old offroad racer here-
Blue if you ever think you'll want to take them back apart,
Red is permanent so it will never come apart-(you'll regret it later!)

I wouldn't use locktite. I've had mine off and on a couple times and simple torque always does the job. Plus, I wouldn't want to lose the option of taking them off if I ever want to.

Flying Dog says that his R is sexier without them and I agree (nice truck), but I usually leave mine on because they look more like the '50's truck that inspired the R's looks; and also because they are great at stopping other car doors (like my wife's) before they hit that VERY sexy slingshot paint.

The running board on Ilsa's passenger side was within a millimeter of touching the paint, so when I reinstalled it, I put two washers under the last bolt and one under the adjacent one.

After the brackets are installed on the frame Are the boards themselves adjustable in and out to get the correct spacing?
